      CHALLENGES

We are searching for technologies which help give women better control of their health. We want to help women easily track symptoms of peri-menopause, with relevant clinically-validated hormone levels, so they can better understand their experience and can get better support and information.

It is estimated that around 1.5 million women in the UK experience symptoms such as insomnia, hot flushes and night sweats every year – 85% due to peri-menopause, this is the years before a woman’s periods stop. Lack of awareness of symptoms may mean women suffer symptoms for years without appropriate treatment. For example, women with migraines, fatigue and low mood may take antidepressant or headache medicines, but these will not treat the underlying cause if it’s peri-menopause. Some women with peri-menopause may suffer from unnecessary or ineffective treatment when several treatment options are available – such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or complementary therapies which some women find helpful to manage symptoms.

AXA PPP healthcare is committed to fostering innovation which gives customers better control over their own health. Our objective is to find highly innovative solutions to help solve the problem of unmet customer needs of women with peri-menopause symptoms.
