Vomiting problems

Tags: vomiting

My daughter has been vomiting since Tuesday on and off - twice on Tuesday, not at all on Wednesday, 12 hours on Thursday, one yesterday and 3 times this afternoon. She saw a out of hours GP at 1.30am on Friday morning who ruled out appendicitis. Any ideas on what it could be?

The answer

In order to ascertain what is wrong with her she will need a full medical assessment by a General Practitioner. There are a number of different reasons why a child vomits or continues to vomit. Unfortunately the nature of childhood illness is that it may resolve spontaneously and the route cause never found. The course of action will always be to consult your General Practitioner or if very worried take her to Accident and emergency.
