About 5 years ago my tendons and ulnar nerve were severed. An operation was carried out, but I developed a claw hand. My left hand pinkie claws and has a gap between it and my ring finger. Sometimes it hurts alot.

Can you tell me what the operation procedure is and how long will it take to recover so I can return to work. Regards Fred Bremner

The Answer

I am sorry but only a very specialised hand surgeon would know the full details of any surgery that could help this type of condition.

If your surgeon thinks that further surgery could help you, you should take a list of questions you want to ask back to them. Before you go ahead with any procedure, make sure you are fully informed about the risks/benefits and recovery times.
