My right ankle prominently keeps swelling and causes me great pain also I am unable to walk on my foot first thing in the morning what could this be ?

The Answer

The swelling of the right ankle prominence suggests an inflammation of the area, this may be joint or tendon related, a bursitis is also a possibility.

Arthritic changes cannot be ruled out and this would relate to the pain and difficulty walking when you get up in the morning. I suggest you follow up with your GP for examination and x ray of the affected ankle to assess the joint, also you may want to consider discussing referral to an orthopaedic specialist or rheumatologist depending on diagnosis. Treatment plan will depend on diagnosis.
