My husband is on Xarelto tablets for blood clots, can he take cherry capsules for gout, which has appeared in the last week.
Unfortunately I can’t say for sure whether it is safe to take cherry capsules whilst taking Xarelto because this has never been studied. I have thoroughly checked all my possible reference sources but there is no information available on this. Usually in this situation it is considered best to err on the side of caution and for your husband not to take the cherry capsules bearing in mind the importance of his Xarelto being able to work effectively.
There was a study that was performed that suggested that cherry may be helpful in the treatment of gout, find out more on this eczema page from the NHS
Gout is such a painful condition and patients find it very difficult to cope without medication so a trip to the GP would be a good idea as they will be able to prescribe an alternative for him.
