My mother has had severe depression with slight psychosis for the past year and despite a hospital stay for 8 months, anti depressants and therapy, no improvements. Any recommendations of what we can try next please?

The Answer

We are sorry to hear your mother is still unwell. Unfortunately we are unable to give you any recommendations with regards to your mother’s treatment. We would recommend your mother goes to see her psychiatrist again with the view of discussing the future treatment plan. There may be some other treatment options available that would not have been considered when treatment first began that may be considered now.
