Financial problems causing stress.

I have been dealing with alot of stress lately due to financial problems, struggling with returning to work since having my little boy but no alternative due to money. On top of this had family and boyfriend issues, what can I do to combat this as I feel totally alone nobody to talk to and no help.

The answer

I am sorry to hear about the problems you have at present, clearly it’s been a difficult time. You might find it helpful to have a chat with your GP about the possibility of being referred for counselling.

A counsellor can be very helpful in assisting you with issues surrounding the relationships in your life including family. GPs usually have access to counselling services and some have a counsellor situated in the surgery. Alternatively if you are a member of PPP you can call Health At Hand on 0800-003 004 who will be able to transfer you to the counselling team here who can help you further.

Equally the Citizens Advice Bureau may be useful in assisting you with your financial problems, for example they can check that you are receiving all the benefits you are entitled to including tax credit and also help you to liaise with any creditors you may have that are causing further anxieties. You can find the number for your local Citizens Advice Bureau in the local telephone directories and papers, an appointment with them may prove very useful. I hope this information will be helpful and I wish you the very best for the future.
