Lumps on my tongue

I have had a weird feeling in my throat for the past week. Almost like there's been a hair in my mouth, when I investigated further I found a bundle of lumps right at the back of my tongue. These do not hurt unless touched, I'm worried it may be something bad. If I sent a picture would you be able to see what you think it could be? Do you need to see a GP ASAP?

Would you like to speak with a doctor by video or phone at a time that suits you?

Our Doctor@Hand service, delivered by Doctor Care Anywhere, offers a doctor appointment by video or phone at a time that suits you.

The answer

We are sorry you are having difficulties with your throat; unfortunately we are not a diagnostic service therefore a photograph will not help us. To have this issue resolved you need to consult with a general practitioner who may be able to tell you exactly what the problem is or arrange further diagnostic tests. Having your problem formally assessed should alleviate some of your anxieties.
