The Answer

I am very sorry but I do not really understand the question. I have never heard of ‘heart nerves that can shrink’. I suspect you have either misheard or misunderstood what the doctor has told your friend.

If your friend is unclear about what the doctor has told him/her, I would really recommend they go back to get some further information and a better explanation. If language is the barrier, you should ask the doctor to use a telephone interpreter to explain the condition in more detail in your own language. You can also ask for the diagnosis and treatment to be written down on a bit of paper to take home, so you can look it up at home on the internet.
