Can I have a second Corneal graft?
15 years ago I had a Corneal graft, unfortunately my vision has since deteriorated, my question is; is it possible for me to have the same surgery?
From what I understand, around 65% of corneal grafts (or transplants) will last up to 10 years. It is possible that your graft has started to fail because the vision has started to deteriorate.
Some people can have the operation repeated, in the hope of gaining another 15 years of good vision. Your eye surgeon will be able to tell if your eyes are suitable for another transplant.
You should see your eye doctor again anyway about your eyes, because there may be another reason why your vision has changed.
