Acute tonsillitis infection.
What are the techniques used to screen for antibiotic resistance profile of the microbial isolates from acute tonsillitis infection?
I am not sure of the precise tests currently used in a laboratory, as I am not a microbiologist. If you are a patient that suffers from recurrent tonsillitis and you are worried about antibiotic resistance, the best way to check for this is by having a swab taken by your doctor when the tonsil is infected. This swab will then be sent to a laboratory to find out which antibiotics are sensitive to the organism found and which are resistant.
