The answer

There are two types of problems that can be commonly experienced here, achieving and maintaining an erection this is known as erectile dysfunction and problems with ejaculation. Both these problems can have either a physical or psychological cause and can happen at any point in a mans life.

In terms of erectile dysfunction physical causes can include, alcohol consumption, hormonal disruption, sometimes narrowing of the blood vessels to the Penis, side effects of certain medications, and trauma or injury. More commonly psychological causes can include, relationship difficulties, stress, anxiety and depression just as a few examples.

If someone is unable to achieve an erection under any circumstances then it is more likely that the cause is physical. As you only had a problem last night, it may be worth waiting for a little while to see if this becomes a pattern over more than just the one day.

If you do find that there is a pattern and the problem continues then it would seem sensible to have a chat with Gp who will be able to assess and diagnose what may be causing the problem whether your problem is erectile dysfunction or ejaculation difficulties your Gp will be able to assess diagnose and help treat this.
