Angry white-head spot

An angry white-head spot which appeared on my stomach was dealt with using Magnesium Sulphate successfully, some months ago. It has recently re-emerged with a dull black centre and slightly inflamed surrounding area. It is not painful. Should I ignore it, as my body heals well, or does it need attention?

The answer

This sounds as if you are developing a sebaceous cyst or a blocked pore in the same area as the previous spot.

This is usually not urgent, but can become infected. We would suggest a routine follow up with your GP to confirm this. Your GP may consider removing this if the cyst becomes larger or antibiotics if infected.
