Our employees love supporting charities and do lots of fundraising and local community activities throughout the year. They get a huge buzz and have lots of fun along the way while the good causes get the donations or help they need so badly.
And this year is no exception as they’re supporting ITV’s annual charity fundraiser appeal, Text Santa, which is raising money and awareness for six UK based charities, helping to improve the quality of life for vulnerable people in the UK. Now in its fourth year, Text Santa has raised nearly £15 million for UK charities supporting projects that offer practical help to local communities
So, five of our staff members have competed against other teams in the ITV studios to cycle from London to Lapland in 24hrs through static cycling and fundraising.
Their cycling prowess was featured on the Text Santa appeal launch show on 1 December. You may have spotted them just behind celebrity presenter Philip Schofield who was doing his own challenge as part of the charity extravaganza.
Whilst competing on the bikes against some tough competition is a challenge in itself, it is, of course, more about the fundraising and all the money raised will be split equally between the Text Santa Charities, which are Teenage Cancer Trust, Guide Dogs, WellChild, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Alzheimer's Society and Together for Short Lives.
100% of your donations get passed to the charities as soon as they’re received, you can still donate now to help raise money for some really important causes and help our team get to Lapland before the other teams!
If you prefer you can donate through your phone, simply text 70070 using LAPL99 plus the amount you’d like to donate for example LAPL99£3
And there’s more…
This year's Text Santa will be bigger than ever, with a three-hour Christmas charity appeal extravaganza on Friday 19 December.
There’ll be live music from a host of chart-toppers, the cast of Corrie as you've never seen them before, a Christmassy version of The Cube and a very special appearance by George Clooney!
Alesha Dixon will join Paddy McGuinness, Ant and Dec, and Phillip Schofield and Christine Bleakley, with each duo presenting an hour of non-stop fun to help raise awareness and those all-important donations for the six UK charities.
So tune in on the night, join the fun and help raise as much money as possible.
