Our perception of what old age looks like is changing dramatically. Our recent study found that only 14% of those surveyed felt comfortable talking about topics such as death, debt or illness with their partner. As Nicky McGurk, 46 from Essex, who has been married for 15 years, put it, “My husband and I both worry about our futures, but neither of us feels comfortable talking about it.”
