When can I have a complete knee replacement?

How long after a steroid injection in my knee can I have a complete knee replacement? Chances of infection?

10 July 2013

I presume you are suffering from severe arthritis and are now considering having a total knee replacement because a steroid injection has not helped the pain. This will be a common situation for many arthritis sufferers because both treatments are commonly used for this condition. I do not know the exact answer to your question but I am certain your knee specialist will be able to give you a good idea of the infections risks involved. If you are considering a knee replacement in the future make sure you ask before you are given any further steroid injections that may delay surgery.
