I am sorry to hear about the problems you are experiencing with your ankle. For such injuries it is suggested resting the ankle and elevating it after an injury, and to try to avoid using it as much as possible. Ice packs are useful for swelling and if you can tolerate them, anti-inflammatory pain relieving medication taken regularly is often advised.
The above suggestions comprise basic first aid advice for injuries such as yours however it is always prudent to seek the advice of your gp to enable accurate diagnosis. This can then better guide the management of your injury and its symptoms.
If possible I’d suggest seeing your gp over the next 48 hours who can assess whether any further testing is necessary and the precise nature of your injury. Keep resting your ankle and best of luck with your Gp.
