Can I take rescue remedy before an operation?

I am going into hospital soon for an operation under general anaesthetic and was wondering if I can take Bach Rescue Liquid Melts on the day of my operation?

The Bach Flower Remedies are known to be a safe and natural method of healing as they gently restore the balance between mind and body by casting out negative emotions such as fear, worry etc. Its suitability for you as an individual prior to undergoing surgery will depend on a number of factors.

These Remedies contain 27% grape based brandy as a preservative. This alcohol content may very well interact with sedatives that may or may not be administered at that stage.

All medication taken during surgery should be at a doctor’s direction, therefore it would be prudent to contact the hospital at which surgery will be taking place to confirm with the care team its safety in your individual case.
