The answer

I presume you are not experiencing any pain in your back and neck. All joints can make clicking noises at times. If there is not pain in these areas, then the noises are not usually due to anything serious. The noises are made when the joint moves and the air inside the joint is pushed from one side to the other.  If you do not feel any pain, then try not to worry about the noises and forget them. If you are experiencing pain then you need to seek further help.
