I have a small lump on the top of my head.

Hi I have a small lump on the top of my head I have had it a while now it's never really bothered me but I have noticed it has grown slightly am just wondering if this is anything to worry about.

The answer

Lumps on the head can be several things. As it is not causing you any problems, it is most likely to be a cyst or a sebaceous cyst. As it is getting larger we would suggest you see your GP to assess this. Cysts and sebaceous cysts can become quite large over time and may need to be removed surgically. This is usually done under a local anaesthetic at a hospital clinic. Hopefully this will help you,
