The answer

A brain mass or brain cancer would be very unlikely to have any external lumps that you would be able to touch or press on and would have multiple other symptoms, including persistent headache, vision, hearing or speech issues, weight loss, persistent nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite or balance and mobility problems.

From the symptoms you have described you may have an infected cyst on the scalp or a root hair infection which has abscessed and will possibly need antibiotics and drainage of this cyst or abscess. So we would suggest you see your GP as soon as possible for assessment of this, as once infection treated you will likely need referral to a surgeon to remove this lump. This will usually be removed under local anaesthetic by a general surgeon. Hopefully this will help you,
