Efudix cream as you may know contains 5% w/w Fluorouracil. It is manufactured by Meda Pharmaceuticals.
I called them regarding availability of Efudix in Qatar. They informed me that Efudix cream 60g and Efudix 100g is currently not available until November 2014. However, Efudix cream 40g is available so you will need to speak to your doctor and your pharmacy to supply this size.
If you have problems then alternative treatments include Actikerall (Fluorouracil 0.5% plus, Salicylic acid 10%), Aldara 5% (Imiquimod) and Solaraze (Diclofenac sodium 3%). Solaraze (Diclofenac sodium 3%) is usually used for superficial lesions so may not be suitable.
Imiquimod is used for lesions on the face and scalp when cryotherapy and other topical treatments cannot be used so may be the best option. Both Fluorouracil and Imiquimod can cause swelling on the area of the skin where it is applied. You will have to discuss this matter with your doctor and together select the most appropriate alternative for you.
