Navitha asked...

Recently I got chicken pox and after having it I went through a rough situation. Even though everything is settled now I feel tired all the time. I still have a slight headache. I crave coffee with sugar. Otherwise I feel tired. I feel better when I have coffee with extra sugar. Should I be concerned about it?

The Answer

It is quite normal to feel tired after a bout of severe viral infection such as chicken pox, however if this is severely affecting your everyday life you need to consult with your GP. Intakes of caffeine and sugar will make you feel less tired for a short period of time as they are natural stimulants, however too much of these things are not good for you and you should avoid them in excess.

It is always worth discussing all these issues with you GP as they can offer a thorough examination and order investigations if they feel it is necessary.
