I have suffered a snapped acl in my right knee along with a grade 1 medial ligament tear, my consultant has suggested that I undergo 8 weeks of physio therapy before thinking about an operation. I'm in a position in my life where I could have the operation next week without impacting me but waiting would cause problems. I was just wondering to what extent would physio be a better option than an operation now, in terms of me returning to a playing football again in the future would I be able to achieve this without a worry if I didn't have an acl?
Thank you for your question. With regards to the current medical advice given from your Consultant Specialist, if the Physiotherapy is successful, surgery may not be necessary.
In this instance we would suggest contacting the Specialist via their secretary to discuss this further.
