I have a calcium deposit along my aorta and have been told that it is at an acceptable level. Is this a serious condition needing ongoing tests?
Calcium deposits in the aorta are not unusual, most people will develop this over time. It is usually found incidentally on investigation into other issues. It can extend over time but rarely becomes thickened to an extent that requires intervention. This will usually be monitored periodically overtime.
