The Answer

Achilles tendon injuries usually require careful assessment prior to a treatment or management plan being formed. Minor to moderate Achilles tendon injuries should heal on their own but they do need to be given time. If the injury is not too severe then your doctor may prescribe some pain relief medication and refer you to a physiotherapist.
