Dental insurance to suit your needs

Choose the right dental insurance for you

Find the best dental cover to help you look after your teeth.

We understand that everyone’s different. That’s why we offer a choice of plans so you can pick the right one for you. Our Premium plan is suitable if you have private dental treatment. If you have dental treatment on the NHS, you might like to go for our Core dental plan.

Our Core dental insurance

This dental plan means you can get a range of treatment on the NHS without having to worry about the cost. So you can have routine check-ups, hygiene appointments as well as more complicated treatment such as crowns, filings and bridges.

What’s covered?

Our Core dental plan includes:

  • Routine examinations, hygiene treatments, periodontal (gum disease) treatments.
  • Treatments and dental x-rays on the NHS (after being a member for one month).
  • Dental treatment on the NHS that aims repair damage or cure a dental problem rather than just treat its symptoms. This could be fillings, crowns, bridges and dentures as well as other similar treatment. You can get this a month after being a member.
  • Worldwide accident cover. Up to £2,500 towards dental accident treatment for up to four incidents – available after one month.
  • Mouth cancer cover, even if you smoke. We insure for up to £12,000 towards one course of treatment per person. This is for up to 18 months after you’re diagnosed.
  • Hospital cash benefit up to £60 per night for up to 30 nights. This is for each night you have to spend in hospital getting treatment on the NHS for a dental accident.
  • NHS or private dentist treatment for accidents or emergencies.

What’s not covered?

Our Core dental insurance plan doesn’t cover you for:

  • Treatment recommended on your first appointment if you haven’t been to the dentist in the 12 months before your start date. The treatment we don’t cover includes periodontal treatment, dental x-rays, remedial or restorative treatments.
  • Any NHS dental treatment costs for treatment that a dentist recommends for you or you started, completed or paid for before the start of this plan or within the first month of joining.
  • Claims for any costs you’ve incurred for treatment that you should have known that you needed before you joined. This is other than for routine check-ups and hygiene treatment.
  • Dental treatment for accidents that happened before the start date of the plan or within one month of joining.
  • Claims for courses of NHS dental treatment if you live outside the UK for over six months a year.
  • Claims under the emergency benefit for dental treatment costs you incurred before to the start date of the plan, or within one month of joining.
  • Mouth cancer diagnosed before or within 90 days of the start date of your dental plan. You’re also not covered if you had tests or consultations within these 90 days, even if you’re not diagnosed with mouth cancer until later.
  • Implants, cosmetic treatment, tooth whitening, orthodontics or any treatment that isn’t clinically necessary, unless it’s part of a course of NHS dental treatment.
  • Sporting injuries where you didn’t wear a mouth guard or other recommended protection, unless treated on the NHS.
