The answer

This is the medical term for a baby’s head that has become flattened on one side. This can make the head look a bit asymmetrical and distorted. It is usually caused by the babies sleeping position, but sometimes can be caused before birth or because of prematurity. Usually no treatment is needed for this condition, as it naturally corrects itself over time. You can try different head positions when the baby is sleeping (the baby must still always sleep on its back). Sometimes physiotherapy is needed if the child can only move the head one way.
