Your body is an amazing piece of equipment which will respond and adapt to a variety of stimuli. It is very important to change your exercise routine regularly (with most fitness experts recommending every 4-6 weeks) to prevent your fitness gains from stagnating. This can be achieved by simply altering the order of exercises or by changing the weight and doing subsequently more or less repetitions in each set. If using cardio-vascular equipment, like a treadmill, you can alter the speed or gradient for short durations to also keep your body guessing. An added benefit of changing your routine regularly is that it also prevents you from becoming bored with the same old exercises.
