How fast should I run on a running machine?
I have a good running machine and wondered how long and what sort of speed would be good for me on a daily basis?
Anyone who is starting exercise for the first time, needs to start slowly and build up. You are aiming to be able to fast walk/slow run, so that you are slightly out of breath (but still able to speak a little) and increase your heart rate. You should adjust the speed of the machine to achieve this. Your body mass index (BMI) is far too high at 31 and you are therefore considered to be obese. Obesity means you are high risk of diabetes, heart disease and also cancer, so it is important you lose weight. By exercising daily for 20 minutes along with a calorie controlled healthy diet, you should be able to do that.
