I can often feel very bloated after a meal even if it is not particularly large. Is there a way in which I can find out if I have an intolerance to any particular foods.

The answer

There are tests for certain food intolerances, the most common being a blood test for a condition called Coeliac disease which is an intolerance to a certain element of wheat called gluten. This is a simple blood test. Also there is a type of blood test called a RAST test which can look for specific food intolerances. Besides these you could try excluding one food from your diet in turn to see if your symptoms improved.
