I severed my fpl tendon and 2 nerves last year. Six weeks ago i had tenolysis and can now bend my thumb but it only moves backwards and upwards a little bit. I have physio with the nhs but struggle to get appointments can i have private physio aswell as nhs?

The Answer

Yes of course you can have private physiotherapy alongside what the NHS can offer. I would suggest that you get a copy of your injury, surgery and physiotherapy treatment to-date to take along with you to the private appointment. The new physiotherapist can then take over the therapy and treatment with more ease. If you do not have any of those details to hand, you could ask your GP to give you a copy of your letters and refer you to see a private physiotherapist.
