I woke up this morning and had two little pains in my ankle, all day it's just felt achey. Any idea what this could be?

The answer

It is most likely that you are describing something that is not serious. A pain or ache that lasts for only a day or so, and then goes on its own does not represent serious illness. You did not mention if you have injured the foot or ankle before the pain had started (suggesting a sprain), or if there is any redness or swelling around the ankle (suggesting infection). My advice here would be to keep an eye on it and if it worsens or continues, then seek further assessment from your doctor.
