My sister has aT3 N2 carcinoma in the lower esophagus. Large gastric nodes and porta hepatic node, she is now on oralmorph and stays in bed most of the time.

Have you asked your sister if she has been told her prognosis? She may have asked the doctors herself, or she may not want to know. I suspect, from what you have said, that she is indeed very seriously ill. It is always difficult to predict a prognosis because every patient is different and individual. I would recommend that you spend as much time as you can with your sister now. It would be very sad to regret it later if you don't.
