Do mobile phones and their radiation cause cancer?

Tags: Cancer

Hello, I was wondering whether you can tell me if mobile phones and their radiation cause cancer? I have looked on several sites which cannot give me the answer. I would really appreciate it if you could get back to me soon. Many thanks.

The answer

When widespread use of mobile phones first came into use there was a lot of debate as to the potential health risks associated with constant use. It is known that holding a mobile phone close to the head causes a local heating effect on the ear and head but there is no hard evidence to suggest that mobile phones causes any major harm or link to cancer. There has also been past concern over the effects of passive mobile phone signals causing health problems (ie. when not using a phone yourself or when near to others using phones) but again there is no good evidence for serious health problems.
