My wife is suffering from memory loss and being confused. Her GP has recommended her to attend a memory clinic. Can you advise what this may entail.

The Answer

A memory clinic is run by a specialist team of doctors, nurses and therapists. It aims to assess the patient fully and make a diagnosis. You may be asked to attend the clinic with your wife to help answer some questions about her condition. They will perform some memory tests along with other tests such as blood tests and brain scans if needed. Once the diagnosis has been made the clinic can offer treatment, support, information and advice. They can also put you in touch with other services to help you and your wife.
