All private medical insurance plans - Financial Services Authority make changes to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)
In the unlikely event that AXA PPP healthcare becomes insolvent and is unable to pay the benefits under a member's group scheme, members may be entitled to claim compensation from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (the FSCS). Members will need to meet specific FSCS criteria depending on their particular circumstances.
With effect from January 1st 2010, the level of compensation available from the FSCS will be 90% of the total value that the policy would have paid. Previously the level was 100% of the first £2000 and 90% of the remaining amount (as currently described in the member's handbook). Further information about the operation of the scheme is available on the FSCS website: www.fscs.org.uk.
