Motivate Yourself
No matter how much you want to achieve a goal or target, there will be times when you need a bit of extra motivation to get things done. So, what can you do to stay motivated and achieve your goals? Below are some tips which you may find useful:
Break the task down
If you have a long term goal, it is useful to break the task down into manageable steps and work out what you need to do to get yourself started. It may be a small step, such as making a phone call or asking for assistance, but once you have made a start you will find that your momentum builds.
Promise yourself a reward
Think of a reward that you can use to motivate yourself, and this should preferably be one that does not ruin your chances of success! So for example, if you are trying to lose weight, the reward could be a new item of clothing rather than a high calorie snack.
Seek out support
You may find that someone you know has achieved a similar goal and therefore seeking out their support may provide you with the motivation to get started, and to believe that you can also achieve what they did. Hearing success stories will most certainly give you some positive energy to work from.
Be flexible
Be on the look out for new or different ways to achieve the end result. This will stimulate creativity and allow you to think outside of the box. You may find the new way works better; it may be quicker and also more inspiring.
