Why we set up a hospital network

Each year AXA PPP healthcare buy just under £815.7 million of hospital and specialist treatment on behalf of our members. We created our network of hospitals to ensure that every penny of this is spent on treatment in quality-assessed hospitals that offer value for money.

Through our network of hospitals AXA PPP healthcare aims to ensure our customers:

  • get the right treatment for their condition;
  • provided by the right medical professional;
  • in the correct setting;
  • at the best value; and
  • with the best possible outcome

The selection process

Deciding which hospitals become network members is based on the quality, range of services and the value they offer. To judge this, our medical team have developed an audit tool that enables us to assess the scope and quality of the facilities offered.

To ensure our members continue to receive a high level of service, the hospitals in our network are reviewed and other medical centres are monitored for their suitability.

Ensuring quality

Since 1996, we have led the market in introducing a quality assurance programme, being the only insurer to build a network of hospitals based on quality and value was endorsed by the Office of Fair Trading.
